THE SAILING MARLIN PROJECT
Our curiosity about a slower-paced life, more deeply connected with nature, led us to leave behind our daily routines and jobs and embark on a journey with no return date.
After a long search, at the beginning of 2022, we finally found Marlin, an 11-metre sailing boat with everything we need for long crossings and life on the sea.
Bis zu unserer Abreise im April 2024 mussten wir zahlreiche Refitprojekte auf dem Schiff abschließen. Zum Beispiel eine neue Takelage, eine Anti-Osmose-Behandlung, neue Elektrik und vieles mehr.
ZIEL
The SAILING MARLIN project was born with the purpose to experience life on the water and to discover different countries and cultures. It was the freedom of sailing and the deep connection with nature that inspired us to embark on this adventure.
At the same time, it means stepping out of our comfort zone and facing challenges like storms or boat breakdowns. Moments like these remind us how important it is to work together as a team and to trust both our own abilities and those of our boat.
FORSCHUNG
What started as a private project has grown into a collaboration between Natural Equilibrium and the Marlin crew, documenting this journey and investigating the profound effects of nature on the human mind and body.
LEBENSSTIL
Our goal is to understand how life can change when you experience two completely different ways of living. One is the familiar rhythm of everyday Western life, full of comfort and convenience. The other is life at sea fully exposed to the adventures and challenges that nature brings.
