WHERE WILL WE BE SAILING?

All sailing routes will start in Fort de France in Martinique, which is close to the international airport Martinique-Aimé Césaire (FDF) and well connected by a regularly scheduled 30 minutes bus drive between the airport and the bay.

The sailing route is flexible and can be tailored to your preferences. We’ve designed two sample itineraries, which you can explore here.

Route A offers a more relaxing experience, with calm sailing days around Martinique, anchoring in stunning bays. It includes plenty of opportunities for snorkeling, cultural experiences, local exploration, and optional hiking trails.

Route B is for those who want a bit more adventure. It includes longer sailing trips and goes further, from Martinique to the beautiful island of Dominica. We’ll visit beautiful anchorage spots, lively coastal towns, and enjoy nature like volcanic cliffs, rainforest walks and hidden waterfalls.

Both routes are adaptable based on your interests, although some adjustments may be necessary depending on weather conditions.

DO I NEED SAILING EXPERIENCE TO JOIN YOU?

No, not at all. We are happy to welcome everyone on board and are also willing to share with you our experience and learnings.

We’re not a sailing school, but you can benefit from Joseph’s racing background to learn anything from the basics to advanced sailing techniques. Noa started sailing at the beginning of our our journey and knows exactly how to translate the nurdy sailing stuff into an understandable language for every sailor level.

HOW WILL BE LIFE ON BOARD?

Most of all, we’re here to have fun and enjoy a great time together. Our sailing trips are all about good vibes, exploring beautiful places, and sharing meaningful moments. We love a relaxed, nature-filled atmosphere and connecting with others in an easygoing way. If you’re looking for a party boat or a loud, high-energy scene, this might not be the right fit. We value tranquility, respect, and appreciation for the natural beauty around us.

Living on a boat also means to be together on a small space with limited privacy. But at MARLIN there’s always room to enjoy some personal time whenever you need it.

WHERE DO I SLEEP?

MARLIN has two separate cabins, each equipped with a double bed, private sink, and storage lockers. You’ll be staying in the cozy aft cabin—either sharing it with a partner or friend, or enjoying the entire space to yourself if you’re joining solo. To ensure everyone sleeps well, we don’t pair solo travelers with others unless specifically requested.

We recommend bringing only the essentials in a soft bag or backpack, as there’s no space onboard for bulky luggage. After you book, we’ll send you a detailed packing list to help you prepare.

WHAT WILL WE EAT ALL DAY?

At the start of the week, we’ll stock up on groceries for the entire trip, and the cost will be shared equally among everyone on board. We’ll cook together on the boat, but in some locations, we can also bring you ashore to enjoy a meal at a local restaurant.

We both eat nearly everything so there will be no restrictions on your diet. Still water, coffee, and tea are always available, and a selection of chilled sodas can be provided for a small additional charge. We don’t drink alcohol ourselves, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you’d like to enjoy a drink during the trip.

The estimated cost for groceries is around €200 per person for 10 days, based on mostly cooking on board. This does not include meals at restaurants or special drinks.

WHAT SHOULD I TAKE WITH ME ON BOARD?

Well in advance we will provide you a list with nececcary items you should bring with you or have to organize before the trip (e.g. valid passport).

CAN I HAVE A SHOWER ABOARD?

We have two showers on board. One outside at the stern and one inside in the head (bathroom). Typically, we shower using seawater and then rinse off with fresh water. This helps conserve our fresh water supply, so we don’t need to find a refill point during the trip.

DO I REALLY HAVE TO DO MY BUSINESS INTO A BUCKET AS YOU SHOWED IN YOUR VIDEOS!?

Yes, but only if our toilet is not working, which thankfully happens very rarely. You can use the toilet just like you would at home. The only difference is that you must not throw paper or any non-organic materials into it, as everything goes directly into the sea.

CAN I CHARGE MY PHONE?

We have sufficient electrical power on board to charge electic devices like phones, camaras, drones, power banks. Charging is possible with USB-A and USB-C outlets up to 65 watts.

DO YOU HAVE WIFI ABOARD?

Yes, we have a SIM card on board with unlimited data that you’re welcome to use. It usually works well as long as we stay close to the coastline, just like a regular phone.

WHICH LANGUAGE WILL WE SPEAK ON BOARD?

We both speak English, German, and Spanish fluently. Noa also speaks Portuguese, and Joseph understands Portuñol. We’re happy to communicate in the language you prefer. However, to ensure everyone feels comfortable and respected on board, we always choose a language that everyone can understand.
